Why does Gimv invest in OpenBravo

I`m having a bit of a double feeling about the OpenBravo funding from the Gimv. On one hand it's great to see the Gimv invest in Open Source, on the other hand I`m wondering why Spain when there is lots of things going on in Belgium. We have different ERP platforms, a bunch of CMS Systems and much more ... so why must they invest abroad ?

Not all of these companies might be looking for funding, but I`m sure there are some wouldn't mind :)

#1 jacktheripper : I'm having troubles with it

I'm having troubles with it too to say the least...

I've always been very skeptical about the Openbravo codebase which seems crippled by dead code, bugs, and oldest/nastiest Compiere's code. They dare call it 'Java' based but there is much more Oracle code than Java in those XML files...

And it looks like the few Spanish guys that first jumped in, and even attended some expensive trainings, are having really hard times with it to say the least. Just look at that post for instance:

You guys, heard about any successful third party Openbravo integration anyway?

Yeah well, my take is that those guys are not seeing their money back any time soon...
