We are halfway 2026 already so it is time to think about what you will be doing next February.
Start with blocking your calendar for 1-3 February . As usual we’ll be meeting in Ghent
for 3 days of Infrastructure Automation Geekery. It will be a fun mix of 2 days of conference with new and old
communities, followed by a day of workshops hackathons and tutorials. You know you can’t mis this.
My last post has been a while … in that I announced that there would be another event right before FOSDEM … I totally forgot to announce it here but I`m sure that most of you already know. Yes. PuppetCamp Europe is coming back to it’s roots… it’s coming back to the city where we hosted it for the first time on this side of the ocean.. Gent. (that’s 31/1 and 1/2 )
The age of #monitoringsucks is over, we’re now transitioning into a #monitoringlove period.
That however doesn’t mean al the work is done, we still need to do a lot of work and a lot of people are working on a lot of stuff.
Therefore like last year we are opening up our offices again right after Fosdem for a #monitoringlove hackfest
That’s right on february 4 and 5 a bunch of people interrested to fix the problem will be meeting , discussing and hacking stuff together in Antwerp. In short a #monitoringlove hackathon
Next weekend saturday I`ll be giving a talk about devops at StartUp Weekend Brussels, from what I’ve read so far it promises to be an audience that needs the talk,
The week after I`ll be speaking at the DrupalDevDays, again about devops , however this time with a touch of Drupal , giving a devops talk at Devoxx last year to a Java audience learned me that the devops evangelist need to go outside of their usual conference audiences and als talk to the people that are usually in the other silos.
Just last last year we’ll have a Devops meetup just before Fosdem,
I’ve setup a page for registrations , that way we’ll know how many people to make reservations for.
If possible we’ll go to the same place as last year .. walking distance from the Fosdem Beer event.
Fosdem 2010 was my 10th fosdem Edition (including the first OSDEM)
As every year Fosdem suffered even more from it’s own success.
On Friday evening ther was the obligatory Beer event… however as people need to eat to .. the Devops crowd fled the scene
I had made reservations for a 20 something group and with the CentOS crowd joining us (as there was some overlap anyhow) we were 25 when we arrived in the restaurant .
