I’ve spent the past 25 years doing open source consultancy and engineering management for Stone-IT, X-Tend and Inuits/o11y. I’ve built infrastructures with open source tooling that could survive the 10th floor test, or rather the OVH Fire.
More recently I’ve coached different organizations, ranging from startups to large international banks to adopt devops practices, and thus also agile practices. While changing organizations is a very interesting challenge, I was always happier on the days I was building or debugging technology with a team.
I just started at Percona as their Practice Lead for Observability, I will be leading the effort to both have better observability features in our tools, but also helping customers to get better insights into their ecosystems (beyond the databases).
This way I`m heading back to a more technical opensource engineering leadership role. Back to a community that I knew quite well almost two decades ago , the larger MySQL / opensource database community, while also getting back involved in the Open Source Obervabillity community. It’s going to be fun bumping into old friends again ;)
